Discover The Photographs Of Rats Artists By Ellen van Deellen

On Redbubble

Dutch photographer and artist Ellen van Deelen has created series of photos: with musicians rats, and scenes of lives of our daily life.
As the main characters were his pets Moppy, Witje and Rosie.
One day, Ellen saw a mini guitar playing in the shop window, and immediately she presented the picture of her two students as musicians. Not without reason the rats in their mental development are considered to be one of the closest to humans:
Moppy, Witje and Rosie, under the direction of the hostess, quickly learned to take tools and pose in front of the camera. It should be noted that Ellen herself loves music, likes to play violin and guitar. In the photos, the rats appear in images so beautiful and very touching.
« They are very smart and respond to their names – said Ellen – they are very beautiful models, who are always aware of what I want from them during the shoot. »These images of photographer Ellen van Deelen of rats playing instruments put music in our ears. We imagine them in a group of miniature rodents, maybe jazz or funk – and in a hilariously weird way.

.She claimed her pets are very clever who picked up the knack in no time.

« They know exactly how to pose and both are really talented actors. We have a really good understanding. They always know what I am saying. »

Watch a video about the rat’s abilities!

Hummingbird Photographs by the Researcher Melanie Barboni and David Leninson

More info:UCLA

Humming Bird Photography: UCLA researcher who studies about volcanoes and eruptions has another passion and that is humming birds. Even as a child she loved hummingbirds and now she has raised a 200 strong community of hummingbirds near her office. She is also known by another name – The Hummingbird Whisperer. These hummingbirds are like her family, if she is late for feeding them, they fly right into her office and demand their needs. Every weekday, Melanie Barboni welcomes clouds of these “fairy” birds to her office window with nectar she mixes from large bags of sugar and water. In a frenzy and flash of iridescent greens, blues, reds and purples, the birds flit around four 80-ounce feeders that hang outside the windows of her ground-level office. If she puts her hand on the rim of a feeder, they will perch there in fond recognition of the human who feeds them. She was born in switzerland, where humming birds are non-existent and for over two years she has been feeding these birds and they make her smile all the time. According to Melanie Barboni,”“They are just so cute, and so smart! They remember you. They get to know you, and then they interact with you”. She can recognize upto 50 humming birds by their names and they allow her to touch them, feed them and even allow her to see their nests.

There’s a hummingbird haven at UCLA. It’s lovingly run by the “hummingbird whisperer”— assistant researcher Melanie Barboni.

If she doesn’t feed them in a timely manner, the miffed hummingbirds will fly into her office to “yell at me. … They are so demanding, but they know I will give them everything,” she explained with a smile.

Theron Humphrey’s Maddie On Things

If you loved Maddie as much as we did, you can follow her on Instagram

There comes a time in life when you start questioning things; what you have achieved so far, whether you are happy with your life or whether you are in fact the person you actually want to be. Dissatisfied with his everyday life working in a big corporate photo studio, American photographer Theron Humphrey decided to leave it all behind and go on a yearlong cross-county road trip across all 50 states in the hope of photographing a project he was passionate about. And what he describes as ‘This Wild Idea’, a photojournalist project of  »meeting folks, loving folks, living the dream », documents those little everyday moments that make up a life. However, what he didn’t realize was how Maddie, a friendly coonhound he adopted from an animal shelter just before his trip, would end up changing his life.

Phantasmagorical Sculptures Merge Plant and Animal Life By Ellen Jewett

on Etsy shopDeviantArt

At young age Canadian artist Ellen Jewett was already obsessed in taking shapes of three dimensional forms. Ellen is a lover of life and the mechanisms of both art and nature leading her to make a phantasmagorical and surreal animal sculptures. To Ellen, sculpting has always been about life; biological narratives, emotions, movement, balance and observations about life’s subtleties and overtures. Her aesthetic ranges from the hyper-real, to the surreal, fantastic, and the grotesque. Ellen’s works are incomparable, resulting from her creativeness are her strange and unique sculptures.

Her artwork is deeply informed by an extensive background in anthropology, medical illustration, exotic animal care, and even stop-motion animation, all of which accentuate the biological structure of each piece, while freeing her imagination to pursue more abstract ideas.

“I find my sculptures are evolving to be of greater emotional presence by using less physical substance,” she shares. In addition, she eschews any potentially toxic mediums like paints, glazes, and finishes, opting to use more natural, locally-sourced materials. “This, unavoidably, excludes most of what is commonly commercially available, and has sent me on a journey of unique material combination and invention.”

Akie Nakata turns rocks into amazing realistic miniatures.

Instagram / blog.

In Japan, the artist Akie Nakata is always looking for pebbles during his long walks. Smooth stones that she collects and collects for their shapes and which will then be meticulously transformed into fox, owl, cat, turtle or crocodile. His imagination is limitless and the raw material numerous. Uncutted smooth stones

His realistic and detailed paintings come to marry the shape of the stone to give birth to animal representations that seem almost obvious. « The natural shape of the stone is an infinite source of inspiration. » The artist never touches the shape of the stone to arrange a shape or outline. An artistic demarcation and close to nature that began during a walk along a river the day she hit a pebble whose shape reminded her of a rabbit. From there was born his art, which she calls itself « stone art ».

With creativity, attention to detail and extreme delicacy, create lovely realistic miniatures of cats, owls, dogs, bears, rabbits, rats and so many other animals.

Bucolic and Vibrant Oil Finger Paintings by Iris Scott

Facebook and Instagram

Iris Scott (b.1984) is an oil finger painting artist based in New York City, Brooklyn. Iris makes her color-saturated canvases burst with movement using a form of textural Impressionism all her own, and without using a brush.

“There’s nothing between me and the paint – I feel all the tiny nuances. I can manipulate thick paint with my fingers in ways brushes never could.” Her paintings fit into an exciting new artistic movement called Instinctualism. While its predecessor, Minimalism, still dominates the art world, Instinctualism is a reaction to the vapid non-representational painting wasteland of corporate abstract art. Rich in topic, color, and texture, Instinctualism is art that doesn’t need explanation to enjoy, for it will appeal to the innocent eyes of children as much as it will appeal to art collectors. Iris champions the paintings of Monet, Van Gogh, Sargent, and Picasso.

Her paint-heavy finger painting technique and rainbow of pigments, oftentimes utilizes over 100 different oil colors into a single scene. Her paintings portray a dreamy yet dynamic world – a heightened, more lush version of reality.  “I want my paintings to be both an escape from our everyday life, and an intensification of the recognizable.”

Whether she is painting landscapes, an urban scene, a figurative piece, or her trademark shaking dogs, Iris’ large body of work is a celebration of all that is wild. Raised in the Pacific Northwest rainforest near Seattle, Iris spent her childhood playing in and exploring the craggy, untamed terrain. “There’s a denseness to those woods that has stayed with me. The trees were draped in moss, play days were drenched with rain, animal and plant life bloomed from every nook.” Her paintings of flora and fauna emphasize what is dazzling, arresting, and even overwhelming about the natural world.

Finger painting has not traditionally been associated with serious oil painting, but Iris has changed the public’s perception of this technique and what can be achieved with it. Starting a small revolution, her art has garnered attention from press worldwide, including The San Francisco Globe, Colossal, and American Art Collector Magazine.  Her recently published book Finger Painting Weekend Workshop guides people of all levels through adult finger painting, and is available in bookstores and on Amazon.

Hollow Animal Sculpture Made Of Metal Branches By  Kang Dong Hyun

Korean artist Kang Dong Hyun makes stunning animal sculptures by putting together metallic branches and twigs. The artworks, amazingly delicate, and abstract yet precise, are entirely made from metal, even though they look like they grew out of a tree.

The ethereal works of three-dimensional art portray majestic animals such as lions, elephants, and horses. In one piece, a rhinoceros appears to have grown organically, upwards from its roots-like silvery hooves. In another, a lion’s bushy mane is depicted with a giant nest of sculpted branches. One other piece takes the shape of a stooping, bird-like creature, formed from bronchi-like metal branches, which concentrate along its underside to reveal its angular silhouette.

Li Hongbo Carves Silhouette Sculptures From Butcher Knives

Shadow of Knives“, an incredible series of carved silhouette sculptures created by Beijing-based artist Li Hongbo who intricate, precisely cut animals, humans, and skeletons rise from knives like shadows, leaving behind corresponding negative spaces in the blades. With the delicate appearance of the silhouettes belying the cold, hard metal from which they were carved, the sculptures contrast paper-thin fragility with razor-sharp toughness.

A description from Contemporary by Angela Li, the gallery hosting Shadow of Knives, describes the sculptures as a warning to society, saying, « Human beings will eventually destroy themselves because of their gluttony and their abuse of animals. » Deer, birds, a cheetah, and a human skeleton, among others, jut up from the metal blades, reminding the viewer of the creatures those knives were meant to cut, and the consequences for humanity. Despite the macabre message behind the art, the intricate carvings are an elegant foil to the harsh, brutal cutting tools.
