Colorful Whimsical Embroidery Portrait Photographs  by Victoria Villasana

On Instagram

Mexican textile artist Victoria Villasana applies a colorfully whimsical layer of embroidery atop each image. She is a textile artist, interested in cultures and human spirit, looking at how people relate to each other in a fragmented, post-digital world. After studying design at ITESO University in Mexico, she spent over a decade in London where she became well known in the street art community for her rebellious femininity and acute cross-cultural imagery. The dynamism in her work derives from the way the yarn is left uncut, far below the frame, giving a surreal aesthetic reflecting in the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Now residing in Mexico, her work is shown in exhibitions and public installations around the world.

STOP!!! animal genocide

FOLLOW US ON TWITTER

To a man whose mind is free there is something even more intolerable in the sufferings of animals than in the sufferings of man. For with the latter it is at least admitted that suffering is evil and that the man who causes it is a criminal. But thousands of animals are uselessly butchered every day without a shadow of remorse. If any man were to refer to it, he would be thought ridiculous. And that is the unpardonable crime.
